Photographer Walter Griffin discusses his inspiration for his photos of ladies in church hats on view in the exhibition The Longer the Feather at Bailey Contemporary Arts. During his insightful conversation with curatorial consultant Juliana Forero, he also shares stories and photos from his acclaimed career covering Civil Rights icons, jazz artists, cyclists and more!

Through more than a 50-year career, Walter Griffin has photographed jazz musicians, cityscapes, cultural events, dancers and individuals through the seasons of life. His work has been displayed in more than 150 single-person and group exhibitions, including at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Guthrie Theatre, Target Corporation, Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery, Minnesota History Museum and places across the country. This documentary was produced to accompany an exhibit of Walter's photos at Trellis (trellisconnects.org) offices in Arden Hills, MN. He was interviewed by Craig Martin of Trellis' staff.
